Clifton A. Adler

Clifton A. Adler, Sr. age 83, of Cochrane, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, February 21, 2020 at his home he shared with his beloved wife, Kathy. He was born on November 23, 1936 to the late Clifford and Caroline (Heil) Adler, Sr. Clifton, with great pride, enlisted and honorably served our Country as a member of the United States Army. On January 24th of 1959, Clifton took the hand of Kathy Kinyon with a vow to love and cherish her all his life. He kept that vow. Clifton and Kathy's love and devotion for one another was strengthened in their 61 years of marriage, through both good times and the most challenging of times. To this union, 8 loving children were born. Clifton was a man of great faith with an enduring love for his Lord and Savior and spoke continuously of his hope in the glory of heaven. We are all confident that he has realized that hope. His faith in the mercy and love of God was nourished at the Full Gospel Assembly in Cochrane where he was a lifelong and devout member. Clifton enjoyed not only listening to music, especially country and Christian genres, but also playing music on his guitar and singing his favorite songs. He loved to be in the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Clifton’s children will remember how, as children, he would take the time to teach them how to hunt and fish while always being respectful of nature. There are so many words that could describe Clifton, such as funny, generous, easy-going, loving, but two instantly come to mind; big-hearted and devoted. Either as a family member or a friend, Clifton would be there for you. It could be for car trouble or just the need for a helping hand, all you needed to do was ask and Clifton would drop what he was doing, just to be there. Clifton will be sadly missed by his wife, Kathy; children, Clifton Adler Jr., Eugene (Vikki) Adler, Deb (Michael Valentine) Adler, Gary Adler, Mike (Ashaun) Adler, Cindy (Matt) Thoen, Wayne (Ashley) Adler and Jenny (Mike) Hamlin; grandchildren, Penny (Jason) Koenig, Chad Howard, Shawn Adler, Maya Adler Espinosa, Rafael Adler Espinosa and Isaiah and Grayson Adler; great grandchildren, Darla Smith and Laina and Evelyn Koenig; great-great grandchildren, Sophia Larson and Avyah Doverspike; siblings, Allen (Marilyn) Adler, Marvin (Sue) Adler, (Brenda) Adler, (Sharon) Adler, Dorothy Lorenz, Carolyn (Tom) Risley, Arden Adler and Ruth (Lance) Vagt, (Connie) Adler;; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, Clifton was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin, Clifford, Jr and Joe Adler; infant brother and sister; brother in law, Bill Lorenz and his grandson, Eric Valentine. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Full Gospel Assembly in Cochrane with Pastor Kenneth Shirley officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo City Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the American Legion, Post 56 of Fountain City. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service at the church. The Talbot Family Funeral Home, Cochrane Chapel, is assisting with arrangements.
