Carroll Anthony Bohlinger Aug. 3, 1922- May 15, 2012 Carroll Anthony Bohlinger, 89, of the Town of Lincoln, Buffalo County, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on Tuesday, May 15, at his home with his family at his side. He was born Aug. 3, 1922, at Sharp Corner, rural Buffalo County the third of five children born to Henryand Erma (Loesel) Bohlinger.Carroll attended Alma High School, graduating with the class of 1940. He furthered his education at Eau Claire Trade school, focusing on machining and tool and die. Carroll relocated to Connecticut during World War II working in a bearing factory as part of the war effort. It was approximately two years later, Carroll moved back to his home and began farming with his Uncle Raymond and purchased the farm several years later.On May 31, 1947, Carroll was united in marriage to Margaret Mary Kokott in La Crosse. To this union, seven children were born. Margaret preceded Carroll in death on July 29, 2001. Carroll was a longtime and faithful member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and School, donating many hand crafted items still there today. He served as a board member of the Lincoln Town Board and served as a volunteer fire fighter for the Waumandee area for many years. Carroll would be able to fabricate, manufacture or repair most anything he put his mind to. He often helped friends and neighbors with their needed repairs. Carroll was also known for his exceptional woodworking talents. Carroll will be remembered as a hard working man with a modest and humble personality always putting his needs second to the needs of others.Carroll will be deeply missed by his two daughters, Sherry Porter of Janesville, Mary Kay Foust of Alma; one son, Bill (Mary) Bohlinger of Buffalo City; five grandchildren, Matthew (Stephanie) Foust, Andrea (Wayne) Hoffman, Jennifer Porter, Douglas Porter and Timothy Porter; great-grandchildren, Ben,Savannah, Klay, Cody, Deagan, Laura and Russell; two sisters, Lois Scharr of Nelson, Nancy (Bob) Rosenbaum of Edgerton, WI; two brothers, Warren Bohlinger of Waunakee and Henry Bohlinger, Jr. of Stum; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and special neighbors. Besides his parents and wife, Margaret; four children and son-in-law, Howard Porter, Jr. preceded Carroll in death. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waumandee with Father Brian Jazdzewski as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, May 18, from 4 until 7 p.m,. at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel. On Saturday, visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the hour of the Mass at the church.Memorials in the name of Carroll Bohlinger may be directed to the St. Boniface Catholic School.
