Bonnie L. Rieck, age 83, of Buffalo City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born on February 13, 1936 in Gilmanton, a daughter to the late Raymond C. Schultz and Clara Schultz Berg. Bonnie attended Alma Area Schools and graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1953. On June 13, 1954, Bonnie was united in marriage to Clyde C. Baumann. Clyde preceded Bonnie in death in 1980. Six years later, on August 8, 1986, Bonnie married David A. Rieck. David preceded Bonnie in death in 2015. Bonnie was employed for 7 1/2 years at Buffalo Electric Co-op. She and her husband, Clyde also owned and operated a bar and restaurant named “Bonnie and Clyde’s” in Alma for 2 years and for over 18 years, she was employed at the former Alma Cenex. Some will remember her working for her brother, Pete at the Dam View Bar in Alma until Pete sold the bar in 1997. Her last employment before her well earned retirement in 2008 was at the Buffalo City Resort for 9 years. Bonnie was a longtime member of Hope United Church of Christ in Cochrane. Bonnie had several hobbies and past times, some of which were her enjoyment in playing a good game of cards (no matter what the card game was) with her family and friends, bowling and being part of many bowling leagues throughout her life and time spent traveling to many destinations such as Las Vegas, Florida, California and the Bahamas with her husband Clyde. She also traveled with David to Canada each year. Bonnie also loved to find time to relax, whether it was a calm day on the Mississippi river or just sitting down to read one of her many romantic novels. Bonnie is survived by her children, Brook (Darcy) Baumann of Holmen, WI, Bryan(Dana) Baumann of Minneapolis and Cheryl Ringler of Buffalo City, WI; stepdaughter and her husband, Lauri and Randy Kindschy of Nelson; grandchildren, Tara (Jim) Ringler-Wilde, Katie, Megan and Elizabeth Baumann and step grandson, Randy Kindschy, Jr.; brothers, LaMoine (Ilene) Schultz, Allen (Sandy) Schultz and Barry (Pam) Schultz of Arizona; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, Clara and Raymond and her stepfather Delmar Berg, Bonnie was preceded in death by husbands, Clyde Baumann and David Rieck; brothers, Robert and Donald; and her grandson, Nathan John Baumann. A memorial service for Bonnie will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma chapel with Pastor Colleen Kwong officiating. Inurnment will be at Buffalo City Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, July 12 from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
