Betty Brommer, age 80, of Nelson, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014. She was born on November 11, 1933 in rural Nelson, a daughter to Joseph and Cennie (Potts) Baader. Betty was united in marriage to Elroy Brommer. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage and together raised three children, Patricia, Timothy and Brion. Betty was employed as a nursing assistant for 43 years, starting her career at St. Benedict’s in Durand which later became Chippewa Valley Hospital where in her many years of employment made many true and wonderful friends. She was also an E.M.T. for Western Buffalo County Ambulance Service. Betty was a longtime and faithful member of Lyster Lutheran Church in rural Nelson where she was a member of the Ladies aide and Circle Group. She was an active member of both the Sons of Norway and its dance group and the Nelson Lions Club, serving as president from 2009 thru 2010. Betty loved spending time on vacation with her family. Her true love and devotion was for her children and later, her precious grandchildren (and her forever friends). She had a humane heart for animals and loved spending time on the ranch. Betty loved God and her Lord and Savior with her true heart. Betty will be sadly missed by her husband Elroy, her children Patricia (Dan) Zell of De Forest, WI; Timothy (Carol) of Poynette, WI; Brion (Robyn) of Nelson; grandchildren, Craig (Heidi) Zell, Casey Zell and Whitney Brommer; great grandchildren, Jacob, Adam and Hallie Zell; brother, Joe (Margean) Baader of Pepin; sister, Dorothy Hanson of Minneapolis; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding Betty in death are many brothers and sisters along with her parents who were all sadly missed. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 14 at 11:00 AM at Lyster Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Vetsch, officiating. Inurnment will be at the church cemetery at a later date. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service, at the church. The staff of Scenic Rivers Cremation Center, Talbot Family Funeral Homes, Alma Chapel, assisted the family with arrangements. Online memories or condolences may be sent to www.talbotfuneralhomes.com
