Laurie A. Keeler

Laurie A. Keeler age 50, of Lookout, WI passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Mayo Health System, Luther Campus in Eau Claire, WI. She was born on October 31, 1963 to Michael and Irene (Husman) Waletzki. Laurie and her four children lived in Red Wing, MN before relocating to Buffalo County. Laurie was employed at Heat N’ Glo where she was a supervisor and a well accomplished welder. After moving to the area, she was employed as a certified nursing assistant at Gemini Cares in Mondovi and most recently at Garick’s CBRF in Durand until her diminished health forced her into early retirement. Laurie loved country living. Her home in Lookout that she shared with her special love, Ken Klopp, allowed her to fulfil her love of the outdoors, especially gardening and watching eagles. She and Ken often said they had their own “little house on the prairie”. She would often admit that she was a very stubborn lady. Her family would agree with her but also knew that not too far past that stubborn personality was a gracious and giving heart of gold. Her needs, even during her battle with cancer, were secondary to the needs of others. Laurie will be sadly missed by her love, Ken Klopp, of Lookout; her children, Alan (Rose), Adam (Whitley), Zachary (Kayla), all of Alma and Cherish (Lakken) Keeler of Menomonie; five grandchildren, Ayven, Trevor and Kelten and Henry and Kaylin; her parents, Michael and Irene Waletzki of Fountain City; two brothers, Mike (Donna) Waletzki of Dodge and Jim Waletzki of Grygla, MN; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and a litany of friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 12 at 2:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi chapel with Pastor Dale Engen officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Good Shepherd Lutheran Cemetery in rural Mondovi. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the hour of the service all at the funeral home. Online memories or condolences may be sent to www.talbotfuneralhomes.com
