Darlene Lisowski

Darlene Lisowski, age 73, of Buffalo City, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at her home. She was born on June 7, 1943 at her home in the Town of Milton, Buffalo County, a daughter of the late Walter and Elna (Mueller) Blum. Darlene attended and graduated from Cochrane-Fountain City High School with the class of 1961. On November 16, 1963, Darlene was united in marriage to Joseph Lisowski at the Cathedral in Winona. To this loving union 4 children were born. Following her graduation from high school, Darlene began working at Boldans Company. Darlene then stayed at home to raise her children and see them through school. She then began a 20 year career at Winona Knitting Mills, until their closing. Soon after, she started working at Covidien until her retirement. She was an active and faithful parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fountain City. Darlene found great enjoyment performing with the Swiss Girls where she played the accordion and trumpet, under the direction of Emil Neuman. Darlene enjoyed many activities, such as reading, dancing, word find puzzles and road trips with her husband traveling throughout Wisconsin, around the great lakes and to Alaska. Darlene will be remembered for her unconditional love for her family, and always treasured her grandchildren and attending their school and sporting events. Darlene is survived by her husband of the past 53 years, Joseph of Buffalo City; children, Sharon Benson of Winona, Nancy (Dean Lande) Lisowski of Maple Grove, MN, Pat (Cindy) Lisowski of Arcadia and Jeff (Andrea) Lisowski of Buffalo City; six grandsons, Matthew (Kate) Benson, Cody (Jaida), Cale, Logan, Seth, Kaden Lisowski; granddaughter by love, Katie (Max) Ferguson and their children, Evelyn and Boston; brothers, Ralph (Rita) Blum, Robert (Carol) Blum; one sister, Mary Lisowski; sister in law, Helen Lisowski; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Earl Blum; sister, Fern (Harold) Kiese and infant sister, Betty Blum; brothers in law, Jerome and LaVerne Lisowski and sister in law, Evelyn (Albert) Kammerer. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Cochrane Chapel with Deacon Ed Wendt and Seminarian Sam McCarty officiating. Inurnment will follow at Buffalo City Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, April 12 from 10:00 AM until the hour of the celebration. The family of Darlene would like to take this opportunity to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Winona Health Hospice, Dr. Kurt Oettel and the staff at Gundersen Lutheran Health System for the care and compassion given during her courageous battle with cancer.
