Bruce A. Cheline

Bruce A. Cheline, age 61, of Mondovi, WI died Friday, November 21, 2014 at his home in Mondovi, with his family by his side after a two month long battle with cancer. Bruce was born November 7, 1953 in Galesburg, Il to James and Marilyn (Swanson) Cheline. He spent his time farming side by side with his father James, in North Henderson, IL until moving to Wisconsin in 1986. He married his beloved wife of 29 years, Dianna L. Mathews on July 22, 1985 in Galesburg, IL. Prior to his passing, he worked as the Facilities Director of the Trempealeau County Courthouse and Jail, where his coworkers became his second family. The farming in Bruce came out as he was a "master gardener" and spent his spring and summers caring for the huge garden he shared with his family and friends. He spent alot of time in his "man cave" (garage) fixing any and everything. Bruce would never pass up a good sports game, whether it be high school, college or pro. He will alway be known for his "dry" sense of humor and always let someone else take the limelight while he just liked to help others. A good example would be; for twenty years he headed the set up for the local United Cerebral Paulsy Telethon. Bruce was a wonderful, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. He was respected and liked by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Dianna of Mondovi; three daughters, Michelle (Andrew) Johansen of Spring Valley, WI, Katie Cheline of LaCrosse, WI and Malorie Cheline of Aberdeen, WA; his granddaughter, Alyxis Johansen; father, James (Flo) of Cameron, OK; sister, Peggy (Steve) Hansel of Cameron, OK; four nieces, Nichole (Nate) Johnson, Dana (Tony) Brion, Jessica (Rusty) Clark and Jill Hansel; other relatives and many friends. Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn. Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi with Pastor Rolf Morck officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Talbot Family Funeral Home in Mondovi and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Bruce and his family would like to extend a special "thank you" to St. Croix Hospice for their love and support.
